Drying a Flask

Fairly interesting discussion here, which Jenna pointed out doesn't really limit itself to the restrictions I was trying to put on it, but rather attacks the concept of will-less morality overall. (See this? I can't think of anything to put here, so I'm linking to where I think I'm interesting elsewhere. I really need to learn to do this better. Not that anyone reads it. Yet.)

I also should learn to dry glassware beforehand, so that I don't have this downtime between when I can do things in lab. Comp's coming up really quickly and I need to have something to show for it. Right now, I'm just trying to get my starting material isolated and free of oil so that I might have some kind of shot at getting a pure product. I've completed four years at a respectible university only to be utterly defeated by stopcock grease.

I can't recall if blogger allows for vulgar language, so we'll censor that. I'm about to head home from the lab to get in a quick game of MVP2005 (wow. That's the sentence most indicative that I am a male between the ages of 18 and 27 ever) but FIRST Jenna and I need to figure out graduate school things. We need to make this work, though I guess I'll deal if Jenna has to live somewhere else for a while. Other than that, I'm quite pleased with the idea of living in Evanston and doing chemistry at Northwestern. It should be quite worth my while.

I imagine this blog will last for about 4 days, as have all my other attempts at keeping some online recordings of my thoughts. I'll have to think of something to enter here, though for now I'm going to have to both check on a distillation and where my car is.
